I get lots of emails from people telling me about their "1971 16ft. Glastron Aqua Lift II" (or other year or length).
Trying hard to identify their boat, they see the words Aqua Lift on part of the Glastron emblem on the side of the boat.
Easily mistaken as a model name, the meaning is something much different.
Simply
put, Glastron's Aqua Lift is the name that Glastron gave to their version
of the V-hull.
Many
different models and sizes of a particular year might all have "Aqua Lift"
or "Aqua Lift II"
marked
on them somewhere, especially the side badges.
Aqua
Lift II is Glastron's version of the tri-hull. Here is a portion from the
'68 catalog, the year
that
AquaLift II was introduced.
See this 1968 Popular Science special article on the newly introduced Aqua Lift II hull
Aqua Lift is to the left and Aqua Lift II to the right.
