1967 Crestflite V174 Super Sport

I am a proud new owner of a '67 Crestflite (first time boat owner). I was in the sea scouts in high school so I have some basic boating knowledge but it has been awhile. Anyway I picked this one up of craigslist a couple of weeks ago for $2000. Technically I am the 4th owner, the young guy I bought it off, had bought it from his neighbor recently, who was an old mechanic and had owned it for about 30years, (he bought it a couple years old).

It defiantly needs a little work but I am going to try to enjoy it for a bit before I get to deep into it. I got it in the water for the first time last weekend and it seemed to run pretty good.

Very nice, and welcome Stuart! It's good to see another. The only thing I see being a problem with is getting a replacement boot for the transom seal. Your boat has the old OMC round seal that's no longer available. Just found one on ebay "new old stock", you should grab it while you can in the event you ever need to replace that seal, I doubt you'll find another:

Thanks for the heads up Rich. The add says '68-70's, do you think its the same as my '67?

I think their description is wrong, the round boot was used up to '66 and appeared on some '67 boats, after which there were 2 styles of square-ish ones used up to 1985 and are still available today. Count the number of mounting holes and compare it to the new one. Here's a link to the newer ones below. Up until today I haven't been able to find the older round seal. I had a someone call me up at the shop where I used to work looking for a round one and I wasn't able to help him.
